Touch Autism’s Social Story Creator lets you build a story from your own photos and words, which is great for something very personal, like your child’s own classroom.
SocialBlossom has ready-made stories, plus a creator that turns a short description into an illustrated story. Our printable story library is on this website too.
Practice, not only reading
The biggest difference is what happens after the story. SocialBlossom’s games let a child try the skill: name a feeling, pick a calm tool, make a Plan B, take a turn. There are no wrong answers and no timers.
Price
Touch Autism’s apps are bought one at a time, from free to $29.99. SocialBlossom has 30 free games, and a subscription for everything at $7.99 a month or $39.99 a year. If you only need one tool, Touch Autism costs less.

Is Touch Autism still a good choice?
Yes, for some families. If you want to make your own social stories with real photos of your child, your home and your school, Social Story Creator & Library does that well. The app is free to download, and its library of ready-made stories is an in-app purchase. Its last update on the App Store was in June 2020.
What does SocialBlossom do that Touch Autism doesn't?
It lets your child practise, not only read. There are 90 gentle games for feelings, calming down, friendship and safe choices, many starting with a short video of a child in a real moment. It also covers ADHD, and the app can be used in five languages.
Can I make my own social story in SocialBlossom?
Yes. Describe the situation and the app creates an illustrated story for your child. Making a story uses credits, which are paid. If you'd rather use your own photos, Touch Autism's creator is built for that.
